Google Adwords and VAT - Advice please [Binh Zientek London Apartments]

Can somebody explain to me about Google Adwords and VAT. I have been using Google adwords to advertise PPC for a year now. Google does not add VAT to the charge, but says that the recipient of the services is obliged to account for VAT. Google is based in Ireland. So does that mean that I have to contact HM Revenue to pay VAT direct to them...
